Oldest and most southern wine region of the Languedoc. The region is split in two by mountains that are over 600m. high.
 -Surface: 2565 ha.
-Only wines from selected parcels of the communes Fitou, Cascatel, Caves-de-Treilles, La Palme, Leucate, Paziols, Treilles, Tuchan en Villeneuve-des-Corbières.
-Only red wine
-Grape varieties red wine: Carignan, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Cinsault, Terret, Maccabéo (de latter three in total not exceeding 10%)
-Production max. 54 hl. per ha.
